Make yourself at home.

Onboarding helps you choose a currency, add an account and start a budget. You can skip optional steps and return to them later. Add the accounts you want to track, record their current balances, and start logging new activity.

Plumb supports iPhone running iOS 15 or later and Android 7.0 or later, with English and French in the app. The download section shows current platform availability.

When the numbers look different

Plumb knows the information you enter, not your live bank balance. An unrecorded purchase, fee or transfer can make the two figures differ.

  1. Check recent activity, including the transaction’s account and date.
  2. Check for transfers that were also added as income or spending.
  3. Open the account and use its balance check to compare with your actual balance.
  4. On Home, use Show the math to see what is included in safe-to-spend.

A balance adjustment is recorded in your wallet, so the difference remains visible.

Keep a recoverable copy.

Open Settings → Wallet backup. Choose a password with at least 12 characters, confirm it, and select Save encrypted backup. Save the file somewhere you can find again using the system share sheet.

Keep the file and the password.

Plumb does not keep the backup password. We cannot recover it. Closing the share sheet without saving is not a saved backup.

Restore a wallet

  1. Back up the wallet already on the device if you want to keep it.
  2. In Wallet backup, choose Restore wallet and select the .plumbbackup file.
  3. Enter the password used when the file was created.
  4. Preview the backup and confirm Replace wallet.

A wrong password or damaged file will not replace your wallet. A successful restore replaces financial records, while subscription and device security preferences stay with the current device. Use Restore purchases separately for a paid plan.

Plans, purchases and cancellation

Free includes 3 currencies, up to 3 accounts, up to 3 goals and unlimited transactions, with ads. Pro removes ads and includes 5 currencies, up to 10 accounts, up to 10 goals and unlimited transactions. Max removes ads and gives you unlimited currencies, accounts, goals and transactions.

Your primary currency counts toward your currency limit. Retired accounts and goals do not use a slot; their history stays in your wallet. If you move to a lower plan, records above its limits remain visible, with extra accounts read-only and extra goals paused. Retire records or upgrade to make room. Your transaction history is never limited by a plan.

Open Settings → Choose your plan to compare the plans available in your store. If you already purchased a subscription, choose Restore purchases using the same store account and platform as the original purchase.

If the store shows a pending approval, wait for it to complete. Check your store’s subscription settings before purchasing again. To cancel a renewal, use Settings → Manage subscriptions in Plumb; deleting Plumb or resetting wallet data does not cancel payment.

Getting past App Lock

App Lock uses your device’s authentication. Try Face ID, Touch ID or Android biometrics again, or use the device PIN/passcode option offered by the system. Plumb cannot read or reset your device passcode.

If biometric authentication is unavailable, check your device’s security settings and the Face ID permission for Plumb. Contact us if Plumb remains locked after the system has successfully authenticated you.

Starting over

Settings → Reset all Plumb data asks you to confirm before clearing the wallet. Create and save an encrypted backup first if you might want that data later.

Resetting does not cancel your subscription, disable App Lock, or remove files you previously exported to Files, email or a cloud-storage service. Manage those copies where you saved them.

Tell us what happened.

Email contact@zixdev.com with your app version, device model, operating-system version and the steps that led to the problem. Include any error text you see.

Please do not send banking credentials, your device passcode, your backup password or private financial records. If you send a screenshot, hide or redact personal figures first.
