Privacy for Plumb.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Plumb or this website. Please read it together with our Terms of Use.
Plumb is a budgeting app that runs on your iPhone. There is no Plumb account and no Plumb server holding a copy of your budget.
In short
You do not sign up for anything to use Plumb. What you enter — your accounts, transactions, categories, budgets and goals — is kept on your iPhone. Plumb asks for no banking credentials, uses no analytics and no advertising, and does not sell or share your information.
1. Who this policy covers
Plumb is published by ZIX DEV Inc. This policy covers the Plumb app and this website. It does not cover services operated by others, including the app store you downloaded Plumb from, or any site or service you choose to send an exported file to.
2. Information Plumb holds
Everything Plumb holds about your money is something you typed into it: account names and balances, transactions, categories and budgets, goals, recurring items, and your budget cycle and income figure. Plumb connects to no bank and asks for no banking credential, so none of it arrives from anywhere else.
Plumb has no account, no sign-up and no password, so it holds no name, email address or profile for you. Your app preferences — such as hiding balances, the app lock, language and appearance — are stored on the device alongside your data.
Plumb also creates one random identifier for your installation and keeps it on the device with the rest of your data. It is not an advertising identifier and it is not tied to you or your device across apps.
3. Where your information is kept
On your iPhone, in Plumb's own storage area. There is no cloud sync and no second copy held by us. The file is protected by iOS file protection, so it is readable only after the device has been unlocked since it was switched on.
Because Plumb's data sits in the app's own storage area, it is included in an encrypted iPhone backup you make through iCloud or a computer. Those backups are handled by Apple under Apple's terms, not by us.
4. What leaves your device
Your budget information does not leave your device, except in the two cases described below: a file you export yourself, and a purchase you make through Apple.
Plumb does not send your accounts, transactions, balances, budgets or goals to us or to anyone else, and we cannot read them.
5. Subscriptions and payments
Paid Plumb features are sold as in-app purchases through Apple. Payment, renewal and cancellation happen between you and Apple against your Apple ID. Plumb never receives your card number, billing address or Apple ID, and keeps no billing record.
Plumb stores on your device which plan is currently active, so it knows what to unlock. Apple's handling of your purchase is covered by Apple's privacy policy, not this one.
6. App lock and Face ID
If you switch the app lock on in Settings, Plumb asks iOS to confirm it is you before the app opens. The check is performed by iOS, which accepts Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode. Plumb never receives your biometric data.
Face ID is the only system permission Plumb asks for. It does not ask for your camera, contacts, location, photos or notifications.
7. Analytics, advertising and cookies
Plumb contains no analytics, no crash reporting sent to us, no advertising and no tracking. It does not ask for permission to track you across other companies' apps or websites, because it does not do so.
This website sets no cookies, runs no scripts and loads nothing from a third party, so it does not track visitors either.
8. Exporting your information
Settings offers Export CSV, which writes your ledger to a file and hands it to the iOS share sheet so you can choose where it goes. The file contains real figures.
This runs only when you start it. Once the file leaves Plumb, what happens to it is governed by wherever you sent it, and is outside our control.
9. Deleting your information
Settings offers Reset data, which permanently deletes the budget information held in the app. Deleting the app removes its storage area, and your data with it.
Both are complete, because there is no copy on our side to reach for. Your subscription is managed by Apple and is not affected by resetting the app's data.
10. Children
Plumb is not directed at children and is not intended for use by them. Plumb does not ask for anyone's age, because it collects no personal profile of any kind.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The version posted on this page is the current version, and the date at the top of the page shows when it last changed.
Questions about this policy can be sent to contact@zixdev.com. You can also read our Terms of Use.
